The International Karate Daigaku hosted the annual IKD World Camp at Camp Wanakita in Haliburton, Ontario from June 18-21.
A group of Maritime IKD members attended the event which consisted of classes taught by IKD Shihan Kai members including our chief instructors, Shihan David and Janice Pyke.
During the event, Shihan David Pyke, Shihan Janice Pyke, Shihan Roy Stuart and Sensei Norm Robitza received IKD Executive Instructor, Examiner, Judge Licenses. They are among a small group of IKD Instructors to receive these new credentials.
Also during the packed weekend of training, there were some fun activities. The IKD World Camp Squid Games competitor consisted of a two day multiple event challenge. Beginning with Archery on day 1 of the games and concluding with Red Light-Green Light, Rock-Paper-Scissors and Tug of War. When the event was over and scores were tallied, the Maritime IKD stood tall. Andrew Sibbald won 1st place, Mark Douglas tied for 2nd Place and Toni Campbell tied for 3rd Place.
